Singing lets you Relieve Stress
Singing is something that belongs to everyone, not just the super talented. Even a person who sings only in the shower deserves the chance to sing, and to let it distress your life.
Singing helps people to feel comfortable in their own skin. Many times when we are singing, especially alone, we are not aware of what is going on around us. We don't have a care in the world as we belt out high notes, low notes and everything in between. No matter your talent level, it feels great to not care how you sound or look.
Understanding what is happening with your thoughts is a very good way to lower your stress. Singing will allow you to understand what is going on inside of your mind. Singing can help you sort through complex emotions about love and loss. As a result you will sing out your stress. It feels great to be able to express your feelings. That is exactly what professional singers are doing on stage. They are opening themselves up to everyone in the audience. You don't have to be that revealing, but singing to yourself can also open up your emotions. Singing is a great way to put forth who you are and how you feel. We have all connected to certain songs that seem to say exactly what we feel. Sing along to that tune, let the emotion out. Once you let your emotion out the good feelings will most likely come in. You can even choose songs that are intentionally uplifting to change your mood.
